– On 10TH November 2018 the Faculty of Syariah & Law (FSU) has successfully organized the International Seminar on Syariah & Law (INSLA 2018) at Movenpick Hotel & Convention Center KLIA, Sepang. The seminar was jointly organized with Waqaf & Zakat Center and Federal Territory Taqwa Foundation. Syariah and law are two legal systems that have different historical backgrounds of development in the country. Due to the absence of clear analysis and full understanding over the values, principles and practices that exist in both legal systems, contradiction and misunderstanding sometimes will arise. As such, INSLA been organized with the hope to have a clear understanding over all the arising matters relating to the two legal systems as well as to harmonize the two legal systems so that it can exist harmoniously in the multi-racial, cultural and religious country like Malaysia. Many participants has joined and presented their paper for this year seminar focusing on various topics on contemporary issues face by Muslim and Non – Muslim in the country. The seminar was officiated by Prof. Dr. Abdul Rahim Abdul Rahman, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic and International), USIM and was attended by FSU students and staffs.
