Dr. Rodziana Mohamed Razali obtained her LL.B (Honours) from the International Islamic University of Malaysia with an award of Best Student (Overall) for her law faculty. After her graduation, she joined the Attorney General's Chambers of Malaysia. At the AG’s Chambers, she was involved in advising policy makers on a wide range of legal issues in the areas of education, procurement and construction projects, intellectual property rights, contracts involving goods and services, arbitration proceedings and bilateral and multilateral MoUs. In 2008, she pursued her Masters of Laws at the Faculty of Law, the University of Melbourne. She managed to achieve ‘Distinctions in her two courses, namely Public International Law and International Petroleum Transactions. Having completed her Masters degree, she was offered the position of law lecturer by the Faculty of Syariah and Law, Islamic Science University of Malaysia.

Ever since joining the university, she has devoted her teaching notably to the subjects of Public International Law, International Environmental Law and International Human Rights Law. In 2017, she was awarded ‘Excellence’ for the examination of her PhD thesis entitled “Protection Against Statelessness at Birth: International and Domestic Legal Frameworks of ASEAN Member States with a Special Case Study on Kota Kinabalu, Sabah”. In the same year, she was also admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya.

She has published her papers in refereed and Scopus-listed journals and has written for newspapers including on refugees and statelessnessIn terms of trainings, she holds a certificate from the Hague Academy of International Law, the Netherlands for the Summer Courses on Public International Law. She has also received trainings from UNHCR on statelessness and has worked closely with UNHCR, UNICEF, ASEAN and civil societies on research and projects that address statelessness and children's rights in Malaysia and the broader region of Southeast Asia.  She looks forward to finishing her book and working on future research projects to contribute towards solutions on issues affecting minorities and the marginalised communities, in particular the migrants, stateless, and refugee populations.
