FSU LEGAL CLINIC TALK ON THE ADMINISTRATION OF ISLAMIC LAW IN MALAYSIA

On 12TH of April 2018, the Faculty of Syariah & Law Legal Clinic had organized their annual talk entitled “The Administration of Islam Law in Malaysia”. The talk was delivered by Mr. Aston Phillip Paiva, an Advocate & Solicitor from Vazeer, Akhbar, Majid & Co, Kuala Lumpur. Mr. Aston read law at Cardiff University, and was called to the English Bar as a barrister in the Honourable Society of Gray’s Inn in London in 2008. He was admitted as an advocate and solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2009. Mr. Aston practises in the area of public and administrative law. Mr. Aston has represented litigants in judicial reviews, disciplinary proceedings, labour disputes, and constitutional rights cases. Having a talk delivered by an active legal practitioner, the talk able to exposed the audiences over the issues concerning the administration of Islamic law in Malaysia from different angle, thus able to open the mind of the audiences and encourage the development of different opinions and ideas from what normally been understood from a typical textbook.
