FSU has send several delegates which consist SMSU students namely Sakinah Mohd Rosli, Nurkamelia Ghazali and Muhammad Afiq Asyraf Jamaludin for a two days conference on International Law at the International Law Weekend Conference 2017 (ILW 2017), Fordham University, New York, United States of America. The ILW 2017 took place 19 - 21 October 2017 in New York City, New York, USA. ILW began on Thursday evening, October 19, 2017, at the New York City Bar (42 W. 44th Street). The conference continued Friday, October 20 and Saturday, October 21, 2017, at Fordham University School of Law (150 West 62nd Street). ILW is sponsored and organized by the American Branch of the International Law Association (ABILA) – which welcomes new members from academia, the practicing bar, and the diplomatic world – and the International Law Students Association (ILSA). This annual conference attracts an audience of more than eight hundred academics, diplomats, members of the governmental and nongovernmental sectors, and foreign policy and law students. By attending the conference, the students had the chance to meet important figures, among them were Lieutenant Commander Peter Barkers, international arbitrator, Jennifer Permesley and a specialist of treaty regimes, Prof John Burroughs. They were exposed with tips on how to prepare memorials for the JESSUP International Moot Competition with utmost clarity. The team was accompanied by FSU academician Dr. Amalina Ahmad Tajudin.
