In conjunction to the recent official visit by His Majesty King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, King of Saudi Arabia to Malaysia last February 2017, His Majesty has agreed in principle to establish a centre for international peace in the country which will call as “The King Salman Centre for International Peace”. With regards to that, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) has been chosen for the centre establishment. The King Salman Centre for International Peace which is scheduled to be launched within 90 days from the date of the joint statement between the Government of Saudi Arabia and the Government of Malaysia beginning from 1 March 2017. The centre will be established in collaboration with the Intellectual Warfare Centre, Ministry of Defence, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Security and Defence Centre, Ministry of Defence of Malaysia, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) along with the Muslim World League. Since many areas of international laws and security laws will be involve, FSU will played an active role to make the centre establishment into reality and fully functional. The focus of the centre will be the promotion of global peace and combating extreme narratives. This is an important stage in the history of the establishment of the centre, and FSU is proud to be part of it.
