On 24TH November 2016, the faculty along with the student Law Society has taken an initiative to have a sharing session with the respected Dato' Mohd Hishamudin Md Yunus, Former Malaysian Court of Appeal Judge. As the country former Court of Appeal Judge, Dato’ Hishamudin has presided over some of the most interesting political cases in Malaysian legal history. He has been hailed as a beacon of light in the Malaysian judiciary and often praised for his fearless integrity. Dato’ Hishamudin has written almost 750 judgments in both High Court and Court of Appeal over two decades in service. Based on his wide experiences in the country legal field, the faculty has taken a step in organizing the sharing session with the faculty members and the students. Among the which have been touched during the session were on independence of the judiciary, transgender issues and the constitution, the idea of justice and the adversarial system, the common bar examination and the establishment of an independent law revision commission in Malaysia. He encouraged the faculty members and students to acquire knowledge by any means either by reading and gaining experience. The session was attended by the faculty members and SMSU students.
