Occupational Stress: Causes, Effects & Solutions

On Wednesday, 2ND November 2016, the Faculty of Syariah & Law Legal Clinic had organized a talk entitled “Occupational Stress: Causes, Effects & Solutions. The issue of occupational stress had become very important issue in Malaysia based on several research which been carried out which indicate the increased number of unhappy worker with their work which eventually give rise to the issue of occupational stress. Amongst the identified causes of occupational stress includes due to hostile working environment, bad management by the organization, unrealistic key performance indicators (KPIs) target, and others. The ongoing occupational stress will affect the worker health and his personal life. Occupational stress must be tackle immediately. Effort must be taken by the worker themselves and the organization management to ensure their workplace is stress free. The talk was delivered by Dr. Nurashikin Ibrahim, Deputy Director of Mental Health Unit, Ministry of Health and the program was attended by law students who are undertaking Industrial Relations Law subject as well as university staffs.
